Libby's writing about Rachel Maddow.
I don't know Rachel's TV persona. I am sure it is as fake as her radio persona.
I've shared my story before and I will just note that I confronted Rachel and Lizz, causing their on-air meltdown, for doing "Ask A Vet."
That was a segment where they didn't talk animals, they brought on veterans. Somehow, Rachel would always steer whatever topic to the Iraq War and, somehow, all the veterans would vouch for the need to continue it.
Rachel Maddow and company did not book Camilo Mejia or any other war resisters.
My 'crime' was pointing out this and the fact that they should have a segment entitled "Ask A Peace Activist." It was all too much. They sputtered. They griped. They attacked the worng people.
It was the end of Unfiltered for me.
By that time, Rachel had already repeatedly defended the Iraq War.
She would say the US had to stay there because, like the Pottery Barn, you break it, you bought it.
That pissed me off for many reasons.
First, Pottery Barn doesn't have that rule. (It's a Colin Powell saying and his error but Rachel was in love with Colin even then.) Second, Iraq was neither for sale nor vacant. SO how the hell could the US "buy it"?
Rachel's one of those faux lefties.
I am glad Libby tackled her today.
